Els
Ports National Park
The
Mill is situated directly in front of the Els Ports National Park.
The road leads from the mill into the front of the park and offers
a quick and easy journey into the huge and wild areas contained
within the park.
On
the road up to Els Ports which runs along The Barranc de Lloret,
there are a number of Bull farms, one of which has its own bullring.

Els
Ports is a relatively new National Park that was founded in 1995.
It is the second largest National Park in Spain and has preserved
a rich and varied flora and fauna, with numerous rare or endemic
species. Eagles, vultures, lynx, boar and mountain goats are just
some of the larger species present in the area. This spring we
saw a number of eagles soaring and swooping through the air. Longer
visits are sure to bring many more sightings.
As
the metalled road ends and the dirt tracks start, the Barranc
tumbles down shallow rapids and into deep pools of crystal clear
water.
The
highest peak of all the park is the Mountain Caro, at (1447 m).
This is situated almost directly behind the Mill. Other peaks
other peaks of note are: Hillock of the King (1356 m), the Negrell
(1343 m), Millstone of Catí (1326 m), Punta Torroja (1246
m), New Hillock (1233 m), Nosebag of Catinell (1232 m), Serene
Tip (1031 m) and Rocks of Benet (1013 m), among other.
